Indivisible

I was at a morning prayer meeting today and we were praying for our nation. We kept stopping at One Nation Under God - a great place to stop, but the very next word throbs with God’s heartbeat - INDIVISIBLE! Unable to be divided or separated. Especially His body, we are to be a people unable to be divided. We, the people of God, have all been praying in our individual churches in our individual ways, but God wants us to be a people - His people, unable to be divided by worldly arguments, false separations or a longing for everyone to see it our way.

Especially in this hour our separations slow us down. We have things we need to do to make way for awakenings to God, but if we remain a people divisible we remain partially effective. Ultimately our stream, be it non-denom or denominational, will not be the deciding factor - in fact it’s not a factor at all - and the longer we go on letting it pull us from being indivisible, the longer it will take for us to be a beacon in this world.

Would you consider joining me in this prayer today?

Dear Father, we long to be your people, one people, under God, indivisible. Unable to be divided in our purpose of bringing your light to a darkening world. Teach us, lead us and guide us that we may become an indivisible people of hope. Amen
