I love words. I’m certain your surprised by this revelation. Grin. I prize finding just the right word that fits what I want to say as closely as possible. For example, why use the word compelling when enthralling, captivating, gripping, engrossing, riveting, spellbinding,

entrancing, transfixing, mesmerizing, hypnotic, mesmeric, absorbing, fascinating, thrilling, irresistible, and addictive are available?

But there is one word I love for its simplicity. This word has calmed a thousand storms in my heart and sopped a million tears. It is the word HOPE. This tiny word means the story is not over, the last song has not been sung, the final word has not been written and the hero still has time to get to the stage. I think the entire Bible can be looked at through the lens of hope. Adam and Eve betrayed God... but there was hope. The entire world became evil in God’s eyes and broke His heart... but there was hope. The prophets foretold of a coming king, but he did not look like they wanted him to, and they slaughtered him...but still there was a resurrection morning full of hope! Our times grow darker by the day/hour/minute... but still this little word holds all of our hearts at peace - at rest. For the very definition of this word is found in our blessed hope, our hope of glory, Jesus our King!
